ASP.NET Core is on its way, and it has reached version RC1 which will then be followed by RC2 before version 1.0.0 finally gets released. The dates for RC2 and 1.0.0 hasn’t been announced yet, but I’m sure they’ll appear on the project’s roadmap on GitHub in due time. So in order to prepare myself, I’ve gone through the courses that have been added on Pluralsight. I wrote a blog post on my Swedish site about a week ago where I commented and gave my impressions about the ASP.NET Core courses that where available up until that point (on Pluralsight). Since I wrote that blog post, Scott Allen has released a new course that I’ve been busy watching over the last couple of days. I’m not going to any in depth reviews of the courses, but if you’re interested in ASP.NET Core then I’d go with “ASP.NET Core 1.0 Fundamentals” by Scott Allen, and “Understanding ASP.NET Core” by Roland Guijt. If you’re interested in running ASP.NET Core on a Mac, then the play by play course with John Papa and Shayne Boyer might be a good choice as well.
I’ve numbered the courses after their age with the newest first, and the oldest at the bottom. Since version 1.0.0 hasn’t been released for ASP.NET Core, the older courses on this list use different beta versions of the framework, which means that some things have changed since they where released.
ASP.NET Core courses on Pluralsight
- ASP.NET Core 1.0 Fundamentals
- Play by Play: ASP.NET Core 1.0 on any OS with John Papa and Shayne Boyer
- Understanding ASP.NET Core
- Building a Web App with ASP.NET 5, MVC 6, EF7 and AngularJS
- ASP.NET 5: First Look
I’ve created a playlist on Pluralsight where you’ll find the links to all of these courses in one place.
That’s all for now. Enjoy learning about ASP.NET Core!
